Product description

Pro-Flex LP foot combined with a torsion module delivers a level of ankle power, energy return, and overall dynamics that people with longer residual limbs often do not achieve. This compact energy-storing foot offers rotational shock absorption designed to reduce shear forces on the residual limb. Pro-Flex LP Torsion was specially designed to deliver these benefits, in addition to providing exceptionally smooth rollover. The torsion shock unit compensates for physiological rotation and vertical shock absorption of lost joints, providing more comfort to the end user, and less stress on the residual limb.

The Pro-Flex LP Torsion offers a high degree of ankle motion; a significant improvement on conventional low-profile carbon fiber feet. It includes an effective full-length toe, and new ‘reverse tapered’ technology, allowing for greater dorsi-flexion.

Less load and more dynamics means users with longer residual limbs can enjoy greater comfort in a wide range of activities. The lightweight anatomical foot cover features a steadygrip sole for barefoot stability on wet or slick surfaces, and a sandal toe for a wide range of footwear, including flip flops.

Össur recommends using the Pro-Flex LP Torsion together with the Unity sleeveless vacuum suspension system. Added weight is minimal, plus there is no extra build height, and no interference with the Pro-Flex LP Torsion dynamics. Combined with Iceross Seal-In® technology, Unity provides secure suspension, while stabilizing volume fluctuations to maintain a comfortable socket fit throughout the day.

Characteristics

Active tibial progression

Vertical forces generated at heel contact are initially absorbed and translated into forward motion described as Active Tibial progression.

Anatomical foot

The full effective foot length, in combination with the big toe and sandal toe matches the length and shape of the sound foot. The lightweight anatomical foot cover features a steadygrip sole for barefoot stability on wet or slick surfaces, and a sandal-clamping toe for a range of footwear including flip flops.

Full length toe lever

The full-length keel/toe lever matches the length of the sound foot, giving a smoother, symmetrical gait.

Proportional response

The layering of carbon fiber optimizes the deflection of the forefoot from mid-stance to toe-off and is proportional to the user’s weight and impact level.

Rotation

The ability of the foot to absorb rotational forces allows the user to walk with a more natural gait without increasing the shear forces on the residual limb.

Sandal toe

Narrow, anatomically correct foot cover for use with a sandal toe shoe.

Split toe

A split toe feature allows the foot to adjust to the surface below, allowing amputees to walk naturally on uneven ground.

Vertical shock pylon

The vertical shock pylon reduces trauma to the residual limb, joints and lower back during daily activities.

Weatherproof

A weatherproof device allows use in a wet and/or humid environment but does not allow submersion. Fresh water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect. Dry thoroughly after contact with fresh water. Fresh water: Includes tap water. Excludes salt and chlorinated water. For a weatherproof system, only weatherproof components must be selected.
