Overview
Power Knee is Made to Move You
Power is fundamental to the biomechanical systems that move us.
If you’re living with limb loss or limb difference, that power is a missing ingredient. Restoring it can be transformational.

New Era in Motion
Learn how Power Knee combines power with all the benefits of a standard microprocessor knee.

Symmetry
Adding Power gives you the opportunity for better symmetry and more natural motion — this means less strain on the rest of your body — now and into the future.
Endurance
Power Knee adds its energy to your own helping you to preserve your energy.

Stability
The stability and powerful motion of the Power Knee supports you to navigate your world.
Details
Product description
The Power Knee is the world’s first motor-powered microprocessor knee. Active assistance powers flexion and extension to mimic concentric and eccentric muscle activity. Advanced sensors accurately detect the user’s movements and inform the microprocessor where state-of-the-art algorithms enable the knee to respond to the user’s needs. A powerful motor provides consistent stance phase but also free swing phase. Delivering active extension when standing up, controlled resistance when descending, active flexion and extension during walking and energy returning stance flexion, Power Knee facilitates symmetrical weight distribution and natural gait.
Key features
Power Assisted Walking - A harmonic drive motor replicates the action of lost muscles by creating motion and reduces the energy required for walking.
Powered Lift – Allows for natural and symmetric standing and enables supported step-over-step stair ascent with less reliance on the rest of the body.
Stumble Recovery – Activates strong support if swing phase is interrupted between maximum knee flexion and full extension.
Terrain Adaptation – The motor provides controlled resistance on stairs or declines and actively powers the leg to extension for the next step.
Standing Stability – Power Knee provides a comfortable standing lock immediately when weighted in an extended position, or when held in a flexed position for 3 seconds.
Complex Amputation Types – Powered assistance can provide value for users with bilateral and hip level amputations or additional mobility impairments where strength, range of motion or voluntary control are compromised.
