Overview
AeroFit: Breathable Innovation for Thriving Skin

Where it started...

Understanding the Challenge
60% of people with limb differences struggle with humidity management. This excess humidity can lead to discomfort, skin irritation, and even blisters, severely impacting the quality of life for prosthetic users.
Recognizing this challenge, we set out to develop a solution that not only addresses these issues but also enhances overall comfort and skin health.
Introducing
the AeroFit System
Our Vision and Mission
At Össur, we are committed to creating innovative solutions that improve the lives of prosthetic users. The AeroFit system embodies this commitment by offering a comprehensive solution to the challenge of humidity buildup inside prosthetic liners.
Our mission is to provide a breathable prosthetic interface that combines advanced technology with user-centric design to significantly reduce humidity accumulation and improve the perceived skin health.

What Makes AeroFit a System?
The AeroFit system is more than just a liner, it's a revolution in prosthetic comfort and skin health for prosthetic users, combining a vented socket and 3D printed silicone liner:
AeroFit Seal-In Liner: A breathable 3D-printed silicone liner that wicks humidity away from the skin, leaving it feeling drier and healthier.
Vented Socket TF: A socket with strategically placed vents that work seamlessly with the liner to expel air from the socket, promoting airflow and reducing humidity buildup.
Please click on the link below to learn more about applying AeroFit to our Direct Socket TF to make it a breathable AeroFit socket. When using AeroFit with Direct Socket TF, the breathable AeroFit socket can be fabricated during a single visit by using the AeroFit toolkit for installing the vents.

Details
Product description
AeroFit combines a 3D-printed Seal-In liner with a vented socket. The silicone liner increases patient comfort by reducing humidity accumulation while maintaining the Seal-In secure suspension. The unique design of AeroFit uses the user’s own movement to expel air from the socket, promoting airflow and leaving the skin feeling drier. The perceived skin health of the residual limb is significantly improved by the micro-hole pattern, meshed silicone structure, and the AeroFit Seal-In liner fabric, which wicks humidity away.
AeroFit Seal-In liner comes in a standard and conical profile. The Seal-In ring is coated with Easy Glide, a low-friction coating that eliminates the need for alcohol spray or other lubricants for socket donning.
This AeroFit Seal-In liner is part of the breathable AeroFit system.
