Connect® TF

Overview

Today most people with a transfemoral amputation receive a prosthesis with a traditional laminated socket after a multi-visit fitting process with a prosthetist. For a new amputee or those who are less active, challenges can include:

  • Instability or use of a can or walker, which can make putting on a socket while standing challenging

  • The comfort of a traditional socket

  • The time and effort it takes to travel to a prosthetic clinic

For a new amputee, there is much to learn. Managing the changes to the residual limb, learning about suspension and keeping the prosthesis on, getting used to wearing a prosthesis.

The Connect TF adjustable socket was created with these challenges in mind. With special consideration for low active transfemoral amputees, the Connect TF has 4 key design features to address comfort and ease for the patient while reducing the complexity of fitting and socket adjustments for the Prosthetist.

  1. Fitting can be completed anywhere there is an appropriate space.

  2. To ease patient effort and increase stability, the on/off tensioning handle helps lessen the time and effort required to put on and take off the prosthesis while the wearer is seated.

  3. Connect TF features a flexible brim and conformable shell for patient comfort while sitting, standing and moving.

  4. To adapt to residual limb size changes, the prosthetist can adjust the height, angle and circumference of the socket.
